‘Hard’ Aspects (square, opposition)

When Saturn squares or opposes the natal Moon, sensing one’s emotional state as less reactive and more introspective is one of the first manifestations. Depending on the individuals personal history (natal chart composition and/or previous transits), this time can be welcomed as a time to reflect, tune-in and re-evaluate one’s life purpose and where they are fitting in the big scheme of things. If the individuals is usually quite extroverted and/or excitable/anticipatory, this makes for a time that can initially be composed of a perceived dullness.

Questioning the self about personal weaknesses, perceived ‘lacks’ and being critical of feeling and acting in certain ways can ultimately lead the person to feeling depressed, fearful or even empty.ย  The removal of excitement, enthusiasm and future hopes has a way of making a human being feel such a way. Saturn is here to bring understandings and comprehensions about where one is at this point in life, to think logically and linearly, to evaluate personal contributions to the physical world around them. Saturn is not directly associated with the spiritual realm, of imagination, of dreams – it is about testing and trying abilities to make real, 3D outcomes to make for a more productive and structured world.

Natal Capricorn moons, or people with a natal Saturn/Capricorn theme aren’t as affected by such transits as certain understandings and behaviours are already innate within them. However for others, this time can bring upon despondency until awareness of one’s strengths and limitations in the physical world have been considered.

Neutral Aspect (conjunction)

Saturn meeting intimately with the Moon will sober you up, at least emotionally. It takes away fantasy and future-dreams to manifest something real right now. This is a time where you can work hard and feel effective in regards to your personal contributions to the community, to the race, to just keep busy so doubts or negative thoughts don’t wreak havoc on your internal worlds OR a time where feeling hopelessness or listlessness can make you want to detach from connecting with others, from enjoying yourself socially to instead reflect, spend nights in, wishing for his time to pass as soon as possible.

Don’t be so hard on yourself, be it your physical attributes, your mental capacities, you are in fact being tested, so prove yourself as better than your darkest thoughts, for they really will be fleeting. This doesn’t mean to say, ignore the thoughts or stick with affirmations, but engage with the thoughts and feelings to see which part of yourself they are coming from. The fear of doing this will be much stronger than the reality of dealing with such things.

Soft Aspects (sextile, trine)

Saturn will be your friend just now, that is if you feel like being productive, utilising your talents in a tangible way, or feel like receiving some rewards for your efforts. There will be an added sense of logic and analysis to your usual way of working, and this can be quite a positive change at least to remove any exaggeration in regards to feelings about certain things. You may find yourself working with some more routine than usual, or at least craving more structure than usual. Do this and channel this need into cultivating something for yourself – be it physical strength, producing a new product/business, being more pro-active around the household, etc.
